How to Get Through a Weight Loss Plateau
Has the scale been stuck on the same number for awhile now? Sooner or later, everyone hits a weight loss plateau. But, don’t worry there are things that you can do to get through them and back to dropping the pounds.
1. Cheat. I know this may sound a little odd, but if you actually eat something that you usually don’t it may just rev up your metabolism. You may be eating too little and starving your metabolism. Go out and eat a cheeseburger or a small ice cream cone. Just don’t over-do it and eat too much.
2. Be honest with yourself. Are you truly sticking to your diet and getting in your exercise? This is the time were a food journal may come in handy to see what exactly you are eating.
3. Add more exercise. You may be surprised, but just adding 10 more minutes a day of exercise may be enough to get your metabolism shaken up again and back to burning calories.
4. Strength Train. If you don’t already strength train with weights, then start now. Lifting weights can actually help you to burn more fat even while you are just sitting there. And no, you won’t bulk up from lifting light weights.
