It’s true that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Breakfast supplies you with the initial energy that you need to help you get through your day. It also starts your day off and can reflect how your eating for the rest of the day is going to go.

You never want to skip breakfast. Skipping breakfast or just drinking a coffee for breakfast will not only hurt your metabolism, but it also will most likely make you over-eat later in the day to compensate for the missed meal.

Here are a couple of healthy breakfast ideas that can help you with your weight loss.

*Veggie Egg White Omelet - Take all the different kinds of veggies that you like such as onion, mushrooms, peppers, tomatoes, zucchini and anything else that you want. Add it into your egg white omelet. If you want a little more flavor, you can add a small amount of hot sauce or salsa to the top of the veggie omelet.

*Oatmeal - Look for plain oatmeal that don’t have sugar added to them. Add in your own flavors such as walnuts and cinnamon.

*Fruit - You can make ahead a plate of fruit salad to eat for breakfast the next morning. Or if you are an eat on the run person for breakfast, pack an apple in your bag to eat on the way to work in the morning

*Whole Wheat English Muffin-  Add a little bit of peanut butter to the English muffin or some low-calorie butter spread.

*Smoothies - Make your smoothies with low-fat yogurt and fresh fruit. Don’t add sugar or fruit juices to your smoothies, as this will add the calories on.
