Stop and Smell The Flowers

As I was going grocery shopping yesterday, I walked by the floral department of the store and something just hit me. When was the last time I just stopped and smelled the flowers. When I was younger I used to love to garden and watch the beautiful flowers grow all summer long. I haven’t been in the garden for over 5 years. Why? I guess it’s just because I have too much on my plate. With a husband, a house, two small kids, a part time job as a freelance writer,and trying to lose weight and get healthy I guess I just have no time to stop.
Well, right there in the store, I made a vow to myself. I am going to build our garden up this year and plant more flowers. I’m actually going to do something for myself that I enjoy and can possibly spend time with my children doing. There is such a sense of pride when you watch your flowers that you planted, grow and bloom and become this wonderful scene of serenity. So, ask yourself, when have you actually stopped and smelled the flowers? Maybe your thing is not gardening but reading or crafts. I know that I will be smelling the flowers soon enough.
